ROB PITTS

Co-founder

After graduating university with a Bachelor of Building, Rob began his career with one of the industry's leading project management companies, developing his skills first as a Client Representative, then as a Development Manager, and Project Manager.

 

Seeing a market need for a complete project delivery service, in 2000, he formed Hacer Group, together with former colleague, Kevin Hibberson.

 

Rob loves the outdoors and is a keen swimmer and sailor with a winter passion for the snow. His favourite spot to hit the slopes? Revelstoke, in Canada’s British Columbia.

KEVIN HIBBERSON

Co-founder

Founding partner Kevin has always been passionate about building – an industry he’s learned about from the ground up. Starting out as a carpenter in the family business, he went on to apply his understanding of craftsmanship and attention to detail as a Project Manager in commercial construction. 

 

It was during this time that he met and built a strong working relationship with Rob Pitts and the pair established Hacer Group.

 

For all his experience and industry knowledge, Kevin thrives on the fact that there is something new to learn every day and is continually motivated by his father’s words, “guts and determination, son”.

 

VIN SAMMARTINO

Director Business Development

Vin joined us as our Business Development Manager in 2010, with 27 years’ experience in the concrete structure industry under his belt.  

 

With a significant forward workload of Design and Construct projects, Vin works alongside the Estimating, Design and Construction Teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.

 

When working with colleagues or clients, his approach is the same: “just do what you say”.

PAUL TOLEMAN

Director Commercial 

Before joining us in 2007, Paul worked for 10 years as a Quantity Surveyor and is still AIQS-registered.  He is passionate about his estimates and will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of cost savings.

 

As Commercial Manager, Paul has overseen the growth of both the Estimating and Design Departments.

 

“I believe you shouldn’t treat people the way you want to be treated; you should treat people how they want to be treated,” he says.

MARK LEWIS

Director / General Manager 

With over 30 years experience, Mark has worked at a senior level for a number of Top Tier construction companies, both interstate and internationally, with extensive experience in the UK. 

 

A third-generation builder, carpenter by trade and qualified in estimating and cost planning, it is his talent for managing and motivating people that ensures successful project completions.

QUENTIN HOWELL

General Manager NSW

Quentin has a wealth of knowledge and experience working in live 24/7 operational environments, both in the retail and the entertainment sectors. He has an impressive track record – delivering complex projects over a range of sectors and varying scales up to $700 million.

 

He is committed to growing our Hacer brand interstate, striving for the highest level of client satisfaction, achieved through a collaborative leadership style that brings out the best in our people.

 

He says “hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard – everything depends on a terrific team."

ROB MARKS

Construction Manager 

Rob has 30 years of construction experience and has worked at a senior level for a number of tier 1 construction companies throughout Australia, and internationally in the West Indies. He has a solid reputation for delivering multi-million dollar projects with tight deadlines to the highest safety and quality standards.

 

Rob says it is inevitable that not everything will go to plan all the time. In tough situations he likes to say “look it could be worse, so let’s discuss it, fix it, and move on.”

ANDREW WALTER

Construction Manager 

Andrew has more than 15 years’ experience with Tier 1 Contractors, such as Multiplex, and his expertise has as much breadth as depth. The complex projects he has managed have spread across a vast range of sectors, including Civil, Commercial Offices, Entertainment and Community developments, Educational environments, and large-scale Residential projects.

 

With a solid background in Civil Engineering, Andrew takes a clear and methodical approach to leading project teams, encouraging a flexible and collaborative culture with clients, consultants and subcontractors on all projects.

 

With two children, aged six and five years, it’s unsurprising that his personal motto is

“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”.

TANYA BASTICK

General Counsel

Having established a strong career in construction law, both in private practice and in-house, Tanya joined the Hacer Team in 2020.

Tanya has a keen interest in the interaction of the law with the commerce and practice of the construction industry.  As General Counsel, it is her role to balance the legal and contractual risks of the business against its key commercial considerations. 

​Tanya believes in building strong, trusting and valuable relationships, no matter what industry you are in (or what your title may be).  She says “this is particularly relevant in construction, where managing the human elements can play an important role in influencing the outcome of a project”.

 

Her words of wisdom: “Always laugh when you can. It is cheap medicine”.

ROB CORRIGAN

Estimating Manager

Rob has nearly 25 years’ experience, starting off as a Quantity Surveyor for the first 5 years and then working as an Estimator for a number of large construction companies. Rob has tendered on projects of all sizes and from all sectors of the Construction Industry and takes pride in compiling complete and accurate estimates.

 

He leads the Estimating Department with a Democratic style, empowering his team to be part of the decision-making process and encourages an innovative and creative environment.

 

Rob is a true believer in the saying: If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.

PETER CLEMENTS

National EHSQ Manager  

It’s Peter’s role to provide leadership, guidance, mentoring and support to all of our employees, including our Subcontractors. It’s a role he performs enthusiastically by being open, honest and “telling it like it is”.

 

A firm believer in work/life balance, Peter likes nothing more than spending Christmas at Cape Woolamai, celebrating in a house that overflows with family and friends.

ANDREW LANGFORD

Head of Design

As our Head of Design, Andrew assists the estimating and construction teams to identify opportunities – and risks – across all project stages from tender to construction and completion. It’s his role to drive the design and co-ordination process in line with the project milestones.

 

What’s his best advice? “Be good to your mother.”

CLAIRE WALL

HR Manager

Our success, our growth, our reputation – everything is built upon our people. And it’s Claire’s role to ensure we not only employ the best person for every job, but that we keep those people by recognising and rewarding hard work and ability.  The key is keeping a finger on the pulse of workplace culture and morale and being agile enough to make necessary adjustments.

 

“In my role, you have to be open minded.  Often, if you change your perception, everything changes – and true collaboration is possible,” Claire says.
